Manafwa, Uganda

Our Country Directors, Bosco and Nancy Mukholi are the Directors of our local school, LWANDA. This school is intentionally established in the heart of rural Manafwa which allows some 125+ children of the surrounding rural region to have an on-going education and a chance at a bright future, whilst the area continues to endure through food shortages and militia uprising.

When crises such as food and water shortages hit, children become even more of a target for slavery, often being forced to work or trek dangerous landscapes on foot to find resources. Education as you can imagine, which is intimately linked to their futures, takes a back seat, often times never to return after such difficult times.

Uganda Vision

Given's vision is to continue to provide access to education through the Lwanda school and outfit it with more rooms, more resources and more teachers, ultimately allowing us to have 400 children attend the school at any given time.

Given's vision is to start and complete work on a finished sustainable well that could serve the township and ultimately ease the burden of the region's water shortage.

Given's vision also is to provide agricultural training to local farmers to equip them with sustainable farming methods, allowing them to weather bad seasons and still feed their families, ultimately empowering our farmers to be able to take in the families in exodus that scour the region during the time of famine.
